2020 Volunteers & Coach of the Year

May 05, 2020

FIRST LEGO League Volunteers of the Year

The Volunteer of the Year is awarded annually at the Regional Championship and spotlights an individual who has gone above and beyond to help our programs become reality.
Robin McClure
Northeast Florida

Robin is a coach and super-volunteer – coming nearly every week to help with event preparation, stepping up as a Judge Advisor for several tournaments, assisting in the coordination and organization of our Regional Planning Team, and more!
Steve Bowman
Central Florida

Steve's efforts went above and beyond this season to ensure the success of FIRST LEGO League in the Central Florida Region and we can't thank him enough. With his FRC Team, 5816 Gra-V, he hosted a Pre-Qualifier and Qualifier as well as Central Florida's first Build Party. He also managed our event trailer for tournament directors!

FIRST LEGO League Coach of the Year

The Coach of the Year Award recognizes the indivudal whose wisdom, guidance and devotion inspires their team to be their best.
Gabrielle Fudge
19006 The Bolles Builders & 41630 Bolles Arc-E-Techs

Gabi's nominations said she exhibits all six FIRST Core Values. She really takes to heart the motto of “kids do the work,” but makes sure each of her students feels important and wanted.
One of her favorite things to do this year was arranging bake sales and fundraisers to help give back to less fortunate teams. Having two teams of builders and techs, it’s important to make sure they’re well-fed, and we hear she gives GREAT snacks.
