FIRST LEGO League

Ages 14-18; Grades 9-12

Dubbed the varsity Sport of the Mind TM , FIRST Robotics Competition combines the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. With limited time and resources, teams of students, with the support of adult mentors, build and program robots to perform challenging tasks in competition with other teams. They raise funds, design a team "brand," hone teamwork and presentation skills, and perform community outreach. In addition to learning valuable STEM and life skills, participants are eligible to apply for $80M+ in college scholarships.

Become a Mentor:

Mentors are individuals from all backgrounds and disciplines who work with students to share their knowledge and guide them through the season. Many Mentors contribute on a weekly basis during competition season, or support the team with subject matter expertise on an as needed basis.

Mentors help to foster the idea of Gracious Professionalism® and have the students do as much of the work as possible.

Roles for Mentors encompass technical and non-technical skills. See the flyer here.
